The Trustees have made a successful bid to the Northern Impact Fund (NIF) for money to support the installation of new heating and refurbishment part of the Community Centre. The funding will allow the cost of the changes to be split over three years and for Centre users to feel the benefits sooner. There are two phases to the work, first a replacement of the heating system, then an upgrade to the toilet area. Work will start next week in the Gym and Room 5 and work down to the office/entrance last, but is not expected to be in any room more than one week, so groups will continue to be able to use the Centre as usual.
The Trustees wish to acknowldge the help of the NIF which is funded from the Growth Fund, a programme of Access – the Foundation for Social Investment. The Growth Fund programme is ultimately funded by a grant from National Lottery Community Fund and a loan from Big Society Capital. More information is available on the Key Fund website.
